Ms. Kadejha Binns
Ms. Kadejha Binns is a dedicated educator and proud graduate of Church Teachers’ College, affiliated with the University of the West Indies. Now in her fourth year of teaching, she serves at the Hertford County Early College, where she is passionate about creating meaningful, engaging learning experiences that connect to real life. Her teaching philosophy centers on the holistic development of her students—fostering academic excellence, creativity, and confidence.
Beyond the classroom, Ms. Binns enjoys spending time with loved ones, cooking, singing, and guiding her school’s newly formed choir, a developing group that celebrates unity and expression through singing. Her uplifting spirit and genuine care for others continue to inspire those around her to reach their fullest potential.

Ms. Jennifer Smyth
Ms. Smyth teaches ninth-and tenth-grade English at ECHS. She also works with the Farm to School to Healthcare initiative, which funds our Community Garden, and the Tar River Writing Project, and she advises the Writing Center and Video Game Club. Ms. Smyth loves to read and write and has a room full of books, craft materials, garden tools, circuit boards, and just about anything you can think of, which she likes to think makes her eclectic, rather than eccentric.
