Hertford County Early College High School enrolls true incoming Freshmen. Students that transfer to Hertford County School District are not eligible to attend Hertford County Early College High School if they do not begin at the beginning of their freshman year. Students that are withdrawn or dropped from the program for whatever reason are not eligible to re-enroll into the program.

In order to enroll in Hertford County Early College High School, students must apply by January 31 and complete an interview process. Below is the yearly timeline for enrollment:

  • Fall semester- Hertford County Early College High School conducts student tours and information nights (check website for times and dates).
  • October- Hertford County Early College High School application opens (the form is completely digitally). Applications can be found on the Hertford County Early College High School webpage.
  • January- Hertford County Early College Application closes. An email will be sent to the students and parents who submit all aspects of the application with their interview time. 
  • February- Notification of acceptance or denial will be sent mid-February
  • June- Freshman students attend the Summer Transition Program to get them acclimated with the Hertford County Early College High School environment.
