Application opens: Monday, December 01, 2025-- The Application is attached here. 

Application deadline: Friday, January 09, 2026, by 3:15 PM (all application forms and information need to be at the school by 3:15 PM, January 09, 2026)

A completed application consists of:

1. Online application completed--Application
2. Two teacher recommendations (Click here to print teacher recommendation. At least one recommendation should be from a current teacher (8th-grade content teacher in Reading or Math)).
3. Student's Final 7th Grade Report Card & the 8th Grade Q1 report card, as well as their December 16, 2025 Q2 Progress report.
4. A copy of the student's attendance for the past 2 years. 8th grade date should reflect up to December 19, 2025. 
5. A copy of the student's discipline/behavior report for the past 2 years. 8th grade date should reflect up to December 19, 2025. 

 

The application documents can be brought to Hertford County Early College High School and turned into the Main Office to Mr. Michael Kinkead, or mailed to:

There will be a Hertford County Public Schools High School Option Presentation Night at Hertford County Middle School

December 16, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

Additionally, Hertford County Early College High School will host an interest night on December 3, 2025

Starting at 5:30 pm in the Roanoke Chowan Community College Gym.

Hertford County Middle School will not be responsible for submitting students' application documents to Hertford County Early College High School. Students who wish to enroll in the program must submit their forms in person or through the mail.

After the application deadline, students will be notified by email if they qualify for an interview. Please make sure the correct email address is listed in the application. If you have questions, please call 252-332-7788. Thank you!
